Inspite
of all prevention measures if you get an attack and when the wheeze is
mild to moderate in severity, try the following (Not in severe cases,
not advisable in children below the age of 7 years.)
Most
of the Asthmatics have a tender
spot over fourth Thoracic Vertebra (spine) during the attack.
Ask
someone next to you to locate this spot and massage or scratch the spot
using a blunt object or by a finger for few minutes which is followed
by great relief .
- How
to locate the spot:
- Bend
the neck forward (Flex) and feel for the prominent bone (spine)
on the back of the neck which is counted as No.1
- Go
down and feel for the next bony prominence.
- On
the sixth bony prominence (T4 Vertebra) when pressure is applied,
the Asthmatic usually feels a severe pain which is described as
pin pricking sensation.
If
the above method fails, consider the use of medicine as prescribed by
your Physician.
